Mallet

Information

Craftsman’s mallet that is either from a foundation deposit buried beneath the temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahri, or is actually a discarded workmen's tool, which does seem quite likely considering the surface shows sign of having been used greatly - about 100 mm from the side is broken away. Given to the East Anglia Egyptian Society in 1925 by the Egypt Exploration Society from 'old stock' in return for their subscription.
