Manuscript Cover

The top cover of a small pair of book covers. The central panel is very finely carved with three figures of the Historical Buddha seated on Nepalese style pedestals surrounded by makara and garuda. A small amount of red pigment is still visible on the central figure. The left hand figure has been broken off and is lost from the waist upwards. A patch of gilt is still visible on the bottom edge.
