Master Mariner (died 23 Jan 1927). Trained on Conway, worked for Cunard (and others). Relieving Captain on Cunard Tender Skirmisher. Records events during the First World War taking part in the Mersey/Port of Liverpool and further afield, a mix of personal testimony and second hand accounts presumably taken from newspapers. Starts 8 May 1916, ends June 1919 with an account of the scuttling of the German Fleet at Scapa Flow (2 volumes). Letter of reference from Barque Criffel (Liverpool registered), Bremenhaven, 8 Aug 1895 re Prowse's completion of apprenticeship.
