Maria d’Aquino (died 1382) was a Neapolitan noblewoman. She is identified with the muse of the Italian poet Giovanni Boccaccio,‘Fiammetta’, meaning ‘little flame’. She was said to be an accomplice in the murder of Andrew, Duke of Calabria, and was sentenced to death.
