Information

On the 25th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's reign as British monarch, this Silver Jubilee medal was issued to all armed forces personnel in active service. The medal was designed by British sculptor David Wynne, with around 30,000 medals distributed in Britain. The primary ribbon colours of blue, white and red are still traditionally used for Jubilee medals. During her official Royal Jubilee visit across the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, the Queen visited Liverpool on June 21, 1977. For this special occasion, the King's Liverpool Regiment performed the duty of Royal Guard of Honour and the 1st Battalion of the Queen's Lancashire Regiment were also on parade.
