Meidum Bowl

Bowl of very fine polished Nile or marl clay, with round bottom and flaring recurved rim, a distinctive type of ceramic called Meidum bowls. Base marked in pencil 'Medume 1891'. Two fragments of the rim broken off and mended back in place. CONDITION NOTE 1998: Previous repair, adhesive on surface, pittted, chipped rim, surface dirt, label adhered to base.
