Melanie C's stage costume

Melanie Chisholm, who grew up in Widnes, Cheshire, has sold over 85 million records as a member of the Spice Girls and has enjoyed a successful career as a solo artist, including two number one singles. She wore this costume for the Spice Girls’ Spice World 2019 tour. It was designed by costume designer Gabriella Slade. Her inspiration for the costume “was to take the iconic DNA of Sporty Spice and place it in a 2019 aesthetic. The design, with its electric turquoise hue and sleek contrast black/white lines and panels, depicts the foundation themes of the House of Sporty - power, form and strength.” Lent by Melanie C
