From the Guide to Collections of the Maritime Museum, volume 1: This section covers the day-to-day operations of the Harbour Master's and Warehouse Manager's departments. Except for the dock registers (MDHB/OP/1), this section is only roughly listed and can only be consulted by appointment. However, the Committee papers (MDHB/COM) and the Worked up papers (MDHB/WUP) are excellent substitutes. These are also amplified by the work of the Dockland History Project, notably in A. Johnson's "Working the Tides" and in the digests of extracts from the MDHB Archives compiled by the Merseyside Docklands History Survey.
