Anthony Raine Barker (1880 - 1963) was born in Harrow. He originally trained as an architect but worked as a painter and etcher for most of his career. A member of the Society of Graver-Printers in Colour and the Senefelder Club, he exhibited regularly from 1908 to 1939 in the Liverpool Autumn Exhibitions held annually at the Walker Art Gallery at the time, as well as at the Royal Academy for many years. Some of his works are held at the V&A and the British Museum. The Walker Art Gallery has a number of his works. He also illustrated two children's books; The Fairyland Express (1925) and Hidden Gold (1926).
