Large canopy from a boat. Fragile gesso covering, painted with yellow and white squares, with a shield painted to imitate cow-hide. Marked in black 551 BH. From Beni Hasan tomb 551.
CONDITION NOTE (1998): Gesso is flaking and loose, wood dry and cracking, surface dirt.
