Model of a Jar
Possibly a crude clay model of a jar held within a net. Thin end broken. May once have been associated with a model of a carrying pole or yoke. One of four similar shaped models from the same burial. One of 28 clay models of tools and vessels found in grave 154E '06. Similar model tools were found by the Liverpool Institute of Archaeology excavations at Abydos in 1907 in tombs 312, 329, and 360 (see Steven Snape, Mortuary Assemblages from Abydos, 1986, pp. 206, 210 and 221).
