Information

Male figure without base carrying a yoke with two jars suspended. Yoke across shoulders, arms bent back. Wearing a short white painted kilt. Skin colour is dark red-brown. Jars are suspended by twine that may not be original. From the tomb of Bakta, number 412. Described by John Garstang as "remains of brewing group". From Beni Hasan, cemetery below the Middle Kingdom rock-cut tombs: excavated by John Garstang of the Liverpool Institute of Archaeology, 1902-1904; given to the museum by John Rankin per Professor Newberry. Can be seen inside a showcase in archive photograph the pre 1941 gallery. The showcase contains a limestone coffin from Esna and a wooden Middle Kingdom coffin.
