Model of a servant

Crudely carved and painted model servant. Perhaps from a boat scene? Squatting, arms missing. CONDITION NOTE (1998): Incomplete, large split, worn, surface dirt, remnants of decoration. Wellcome Historical Medical Museum accession no. 129228 (registration no. R110/1935): "CARVED WOODEN DOLL. Covered in coloured gesso. Egyptian. Original. Antique. Bought 9 March 1933 from Cairo Museum by Captain Saint. One of about 50 or more items sold by the Egyptian Museum, Cairo, in 1933 to Captain Saint, one of Sir Henry Wellcome's agents.
