Information
Circular bowl with incised square in centre, punctured. Represents a sieve used to separate liquid from mash in the brewing of beer. Compare to the lids of vats in wooden tomb models of brewing scenes.
John Garstang found similar model tools at Abydos in 1907 in tombs 312, 329, and 360 (see Snape 1986, pp. 206, 210 and 221).
