Information

Model of a washing dish made from thin sheet copper that has been crushed flat. 1 of 5 dishes of the same size discovered in Tomb V, the tomb of Khasekhemy, Petrie's King Khasekhemui. Petrie recorded this find in his 1901 publication of the excavation: "a large mass of funeral model in copper were found stacked together; the tool models inside of the large pan, and the lesser dishes turned over them. The whole group had been covered by a collapsed wall. The models are all roughly cut of thin sheet copper" (Royal Tombs II, p. 28). Dimensions reflect how the object is displayed.
