Information

Thin copper model of a needle or pin. 1 of 68 models of pins/needles discovered in 'Tomb V', the tomb of Khasekhemy, Petrie's King Khasekhemui. Petrie recorded this find in his 1901 publication of the excavation: "a large mass of funeral model in copper were found stacked together; the tool models inside of the large pan, and the lesser dishes turned over them. The whole group had been covered by a collapsed wall. The models are all roughly cut of thin sheet copper" ('Royal Tombs II', p. 28).
