A stone mould for casting jewellery. Formed from two pieces, for casting in the round metal rings. Auction stickers on each half: 1545/4. Purchased at Sotheby's, London, 26 June-06 July 1922 (MacGregor collection), Lot 1545/4: "Mould, in two pieces, for casting in the round metal rings attached to a bar, 4⅛ in. long by 2⅛ in. wide, in polished stone, probably Greek, from the George Finlay collection; another, in one piece, for casting an ornamental amphora, 2½ in. by 1½in. wide, in stone; and a third, for casting an Utchat scarab and cornflower, in polished stone, 1¾ in. by 1½in., found at Tel-el-Amarna
