Pottery mould for making faience shabti figures. The mould is the perfect fit for an early Ptolemaic shabti Petrie excavated at Abydos North Cemeteries, Cemetery G, tomb number G50 (e.g., 16.9.02.23f and 56.22.391). Collected by Rev. William Frankland Hood on one of his visits to Egypt between 1851 - 1861. CONDITION NOTE (1998): Chipped , pitted, surface dirt. Wellcome Historical Medical Museum accession no. 30880: Red pottery upper part of a Ushabti mould, 3 1/2" x 2 1/4"; Purchased at Sotheby's, London, 11 November 1924 (Hood collection), Lot 28/8.
