Mould

Pottery mould used for the manufacture of bezels for finger rings with a hieroglyphic inscription that begins "Amun-ra...". CONDITION NOTE 1998: Pitted, discoloured, surface dirt. Gatty Slip (1873): Seal, in clay, impressed with hieroglyphic legend. A modern forgery (Dr. S. Birch & Rev. G. J. Chester). Not a forgery (W. F. Petrie, 1887).
