Information

Reddish-brown pottery mould used for the manufacture of small faience objects with the names of King Akhenaten within cartouches: his throne name, Neferkheprura-Waenra ('The beautiful one of the manifestations of Ra, the unique one of Ra'), and his birth name, Akhenaten ('Living spirit of the Aten'). Compare with W M Flinders Petrie, Tell el-Amarna (London, 1894), plate XIV no. 47. White paste is still visible in the mould cavity. A string impression is visible on the left hand side of the cartouche. There is some damage to the mould on the right hand side. Rounded back to mould.
