Mrs Elizabeth Holt (1850s - 1860s)

This is thought to be a portrait of Mrs Elizabeth Holt (née Bright) (1833 - 1920), wife of the eminent shipowner George Holt (1825 - 1896). According to Anne Holt who presented this drawing (and two other similar drawings of the Holt family WAG 8714 and WAG 8717) to the Walker Art Gallery in 1974, this drawing did not belong to her and does not depict any of the Holt family. However George Holt (dates?) believes it is a drawing of a member of the Holt family and did belong to Anne Holt and her family.
