Mrs. Elizabeth Holt (1856) (?Or Anne)

This is thought to be a portrait either of Elizabeth Holt (née Bright) (1833 - 1920), wife of the eminent shipowner George Holt (1825 - 1896), or Anne Holt (1821 - 1885), George's sister. George Holt formed the collection of British paintings at Sudley House, later bequeathed to Liverpool by his daughter Emma in 1945, and now part of National Museums Liverpool.
