Witherop specialised in coastal scenes. This watercolour depicts Mullion Cove. Mullion is the largest village in the Lizard peninsula, south Cornwall. Witherop rented a studio in St Ives about 1936 and painted many views of Cornwall and its surrounding areas throughout his career.
