Hollow wooden figure of a seated cat manufactured to contain the mummified remains of a cat. Plinth missing, exposing a linen bandaged bundle inside. The wooden surface is now deteriorated, with both ears missing and nearly all of the original gesso and paint decoration missing. X-rayed on 13 October 2016.
There were two paper auction labels round the neck "19/6" and "75" on the reverse of one. Acquired at Christie's, London, 19 April 1933. Wellcome Historical Medical Museum accession no. 167961.
CONDITION NOTE (1998): Incomplete, worn, surface loss, damage around base, mummy exposed at top, discoloured, surface dirt
