Mummified bird, thought to be a falcon or other raptor. Sampled and published in Nature, 2004, as part of a study of complex organic chemical balms of used in the preperation of animal mummies. Miss Josephine Gilstrap of Nottinghamshire donated money to the British School of Archaeology in Egypt between 1900 and 1910. She was given a share of the excavated finds from a range of archaeological sites in return for the funding she provided. This included three mummified animals recorded as being from W. M. F. Petrie's excavations at Kafr Amar (Tarkhan).
