Mummy Covering

Cartonnage painted with an image of two feet for placing over the lower leges and feet of a mummy. Decorated with geometric shapes and deities. Small loose fragment. CONDITION NOTE 1998: Incomplete, padded with newspaper and wadding, held together with string, label adhered, surface loss, cracked, lifting and flaking surface, loose sections, surface dirt. Wellcome Historical Medical Museum accession no.14461. Purchased at Steven's Auction Rooms 19 July 1922, Lot 412 "Three mummy masks, a sandal, and other cartonnage, from Egypt, Amherst Collection".
