Mummy Mask

Mummy mask broken into several pieces (at least 7). Old label attached has written in ink: "Medinet Gurob 4874 XK". Wellcome Historical Medical Museum 14460. Purchased at Stevens's' Auction Rooms Ltd., London, 18 & 19 July 1922, lot 412: "Three mummy masks, a sandal, and other cartonnage, from Egypt, Amherst Collection". CONDITION NOTE 1998: incomplete, very fragile, half of face come away, loose fragments, flaking and lifting surface, cracked surface, surface dirt, inadequately supported.
