Near Altcar

Williams often painted local scenery, including that of Cheshire and Wales. This painting depicts a number of local landmarks. The view is of the mouth of the River Alt on the Mersey estuary, looking south-west amongst the sand dunes. The Formby lighthouse can be seen in the background, as can the Wirral and Welsh hills.
