Near the Old Swan, Liverpool

Salmon was born in Colchester, Essex, but later moved to live in Bodhyfryd Llanwrst Road, Gyffin, Wales, where he became a well known landscape artist. He exhibited at the Royal Academy (15), Royal Society of Birmingham Artists, Walker Art Gallery Liverpool (86), Manchester City Art Gallery (4), Royal Cambrian Academy (235), RI and ROI. This watercolour was exhibited in the Liverpool Autumn exhibition in 1876 (cat. 229).
