Small votive head constructed with a moulded front and added plain slab of clay to form a convex back and elliptical, open base; the walls are quite thick. The technique creates a veil-like flange surrounding the head. Small, slightly asymmetrical head is oval, with plump mouth, deep-set eyes, plain ears and raised ridge of hair with rough surface over forehead; the neck is fairly thick and finished in a thick smooth ridge below, forming a base. Dull, dark reddish orange clay with large quantities of coarse black grit and mica flakes. Intact except for a slight chip (repaired) on the base; nose chipped. White encrustation may be traces of slip.
