Purchased at Sotheby's 20 January 1913, lot 405 "Another [portable altars], very large ; a raised rim around the edge and a division across one end ; in the centre, various " offerings " and two deep grooves. Another, of square form ; a bull's head placed against the rim at top, other offerings on the ground [Pl. XXIX]". Other auction no. marked in pencil 165/5 (not MacGregor sale).

CONDITION NOTE (1998): Previous repair, chipped, surface dirt, running crack, surface dirt, surface loss, labels adhered to surface.
