'Old Dad', on the Shore at Mumbles

Dobson lived in Birkenhead in 1889 and Liverpool in 1898. He painted a few landscapes but was known for his paintings depicting Liverpool's docks. He exhibited five works at the Liverpool Autumn Exhibition between 1898 and 1901, one landscape at the Grosvenor Gallery in 1881 and once at Manchester.
