Ophisaurus apodus (Pallas, 1775)

Lizard with long snake-like body with prominent groove along the flanks, large head, forelegs absent, hind legs reduced to tiny cylindrical stumps. Adults uniformly brown, younger animals grey with dark transverse bars. Total length 81-140 cm.
