Osiris Figure

Copper alloy figure of Osiris, holding a crook and flail. Tang at the base, loop at front left corner of base, also loop at back. A note with the object records that it was collected at Ismalia, near Suez, by William Cranstone, who was chief engineer of SS Magdala, a steamship of Moss Steamship Co., Ltd., Wellington Dock, Liverpool. Presented on 29 August 1874 but not accessioned until 1978.
