Outer Coffin Box of Padiamun

The outside decoration is very simple, with a broad band of large coloured hieroglyphs extending all the way around the coffin. The texts record that Padi-amun was a Doorkeeper of the Temple of Amun, a job he had inherited from his father, Pen-hay. The inside is decorated on the base with a full length image of the falcon-headed god Sokar-Osiris. On the right side wall of the coffin is a representation of Nephthys and on the left side wall a representation of Isis. Professor Percy Newberry made a copy of inscriptions on a catalogue card in about 1910.
