Painted Jar

Buff-coloured pottery jar with painted linear and spiral ornament in dull red paint. Ovoid shaped vessel with a flat base and two lug handles on the outermost shoulder. Probably Petrie's Sequence Date 40 - 50 (c. 3500 BC). Compare shape with W. M. F. Petrie, ‘Prehistoric Egypt Corpus’ (London, 1921) D 11c.
