Information

'O Come All Ye Re-eds', by local artist, Rabindra Singh (who along with her twin sister Amrit, are award winning artists, The Singh Twins), uses the theme of football to highlight the multicultural nature of British society. The painting shows a crowd of Liverpool Football Club fans watching a home game at Anfield. People from all walks of life are represented, united in their common interest, enjoying the game together in an atmosphere of celebration and friendliness. Rabindra also presents a tongue-in-cheek image of the religious-like status that football has been given within the cultural life of Liverpool. In this respect, she explains, the title of the painting is a football chant, which plays on the title of a Christian hymn. (South Asian Heritage Month)
