Palette

Stone palette for grinding paint for cosmetics or writing. Roughly trapezoidal cross-section with rectangular top and slight recess created through use rather than carving. One side is very rounded. Collected at Tell el Yahudiya by Rev. Greville John Chester in 1874. CONDITION NOTE (1998): Worn, surface dirt.
