Writing palette with bevelled edges for grinding pigments for writing (or perhaps cosmetic use). Trapezoidal cross-section with flat rectangular top without any recess. Chipped in many places with one corner missing. From an excavation of the British School of Archaeology in Egypt (Abydos?) Marked in pencil 255.
