Information

Flat panel of ivory carved with varied decoration along each side with arrows pointing downwards down the sides and a crossed pattern along the bottom and a lined pattern along the top of row of the frame. Around this decoration is another part of the frame which is plain. Two holes at the top and bottom centre of the panel. A dancing-girl is standing with her left leg on the ground and her right leg lifted to the left against the frame creating a square shape in the left bottom corner. Her left arm is up in the right top corner helping her to balance with her right hand rested down on her hip. Wellcome Historical Medical Museum accession number 156639.
