Papers of John Hedges and Family, who emigrated to Australia in 1858. Including Letters, diaries, family trees and photographs 1858 - 1984. John was 31 when he travelled with his family on the Admiral Lyons from Liverpool to Sydney. (25th Sept -30 Dec 1858, a journey of 96 days.) Travelling with John were his wife Harriet, his son John W and another son, George Basil, who died in the harbour at Sydney.
