Peamore

Peamore is a small estate about three miles south of Exeter. Abbott and his friend and fellow artist Francis Towne (baptised 1739 - 1816), often made sketching trips there throughout their career. 'Peamore' is one of a group of large and very intricate studies of woodlands made by Abbott between 1799 and 1810. Many of his drawings were made using multiple pieces of paper, including this one.
