A polished pebble stone probably used in conjunction with a palette for grinding eye-paint. Marked in ink by the excavator 'H' and recorded in the register as being from grave H9. Excavated in Petrie's Predynastic cemetery H near the modern village of Semaina which was recorded by Mr Mace and Mr Iles and which Petrie described as being "a prehistoric cemetery of the later period" ('Diospolis Parva' p.32)
