Personal log book of Ellis Hughes

Ellis Hughes was a Liverpool pilot from 1833 to 1868. Between February 1848 and July 1855, he recorded in this log book the date, name, type and draught of vessel he boarded, where it came from, and its Captain. This page shows that in 1848 between February 13 and March 24, Hughes piloted five ships - two from Glasgow, and one each from New York, China and Danzig (now called Gdansk), Poland.
