Framed photograph of the head of a painted limestone statue of an Egyptian scribe seated cross-legged holding an open papyrus scroll. From the Old Kingdom, 5th Dynasty, excavated at Saqqara and displayed in the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, Cairo Black frame with gilt beading. Labelled on front and back: "Wooden statue found by Mariette as Sakharah, representing contemporary of Kheops. The eyes are inlaid with quartz., bronze, rock crystal and ebony fixed behind the crystal.
