Cabinet card by Alfred Benson, 126A Bold Street, Liverpool, dated 1909. Family portrait of wife and sons of the late Horton Henry Langham, master mariner. Pictured L-R: Horton Egerton Langham (1894–1974), Arthur Edward Langham (1897-1977), Florence Langham (nee Coulson) (1867-1943), and William Frederick Langham (1895-1915). Following the death of Horton Henry Langham at sea in 1896, Horton and William were sent to the Royal Liverpool Seaman's Orphan Institution in Newsham Park. William later served in the King's Liverpool Regiment during the First World War and was killed in action near Ypres.
