Caption on verso: "One of the first pictures of the landings in Southern France, taken from the British minesweeper 2026, one of the minesweepers which played such a big part in clearing the way for the invading forces as they went into the beaches. Photo shows: Mines exploding in the distance as the British Yard minesweepers were sweeping off the landing beaches."
