Sample of dried red paint scraped from the inside of a pot found at Amarna. It is what the collector Flaxman Spurrell referred to as "prepared paints" and numbered it K', in reference to his 1895 experiments with colours from ancient Egypt. Sealed within two circular concave pieces of glass (watch glass) with a paper label annotated, "TELL EL AMARNA D.XVIII. Haematite".
