Sample of dried blue paint scraped from the inside of a pot found at Amarna. It is what the collector Flaxman Spurrell referred to as "prepared paints", in reference to his 1895 experiments with colours from ancient Egypt. Once sealed within a flat glass tube with a paper label annotated, "CHESSYLITE Fine". Removed in 1958 and kept within a small sealed tube for a temporary exhibition.
