Information

Sample of dried yellow paint scraped from the inside of a pot found at Amarna. It is what the collector Flaxman Spurrell referred to as "prepared paints" and numbered it B', in reference to his 1895 experiments with colours from ancient Egypt. Originally sealed within two circular concave pieces of glass (watch glass). Removed in 1958 and kept within a small sealed tube for a temporary exhibition.
